Cundari Names New Chief Creative Officer

January 7, 2016

TORONTO, January 5, 2016 – Following the call for a new CCO in early fall and an inundation of interest from some of the best creative talent in North America and abroad, Cundari announces its new CCO.  “It was a very humbling experience,” said Aldo Cundari.  “Clearly the opportunity to be a part of the growth team at one of the largest independent agencies in the country has a lot of cachet and desirability.”

After an in-depth selection process, Jenn Steinmann, President of Cundari, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sean Barlow as its new Chief Creative Officer.

“Sean consistently rose to the very top through the search process not only because of his exceptional creative track record and proven, awarded experience in making brands famous, says Steinmann, “but also because he’s just so intuitively aligned with Cundari’s entrepreneurial culture and, importantly, our future ambition.”

Sean comes to Cundari from Cossette where he recently led the General Mills and McDonald’s business in 2013/2014.  Prior to that he spent over a decade at Leo Burnett working on a range of brands including Visa Canada, Kellogg’s, Moosehead Breweries, James Ready Beer, Samsung and P&G’s Bounce.  Over his career he has won nearly every international and national award including a Cannes Gold Lion for the James Ready “Share our Billboard” campaign.

“This is a really great opportunity, and an absolutely perfect fit for Cundari’s future aspirations,” says Sean Barlow, new CCO at Cundari.  “Cundari has a strong leadership team in place and has indeed been recognized for great work, but what excites me most is working for an independent agency. The opportunity to work in a new agency model means we can be extremely nimble in finding new creative solutions to client needs.  Cundari’s entrepreneurial approach has always been future thinking, and it’s why they’ve built such a solid foundation and survived this new age of marketing,” says Barlow.

“The selection had tremendous pressure on it, as we weren’t just selecting a new CCO for the agency but a very pivotal and important partner for me and my other senior leaders in a second generation of leadership for the agency as we move forward. We’re looking forward to kicking off the New Year with Sean as our creative leader,” says Steinmann.
