The Rec Room
We were tasked by Cineplex to create a new brand, visual identity and design language for a new business offering. The Rec Room brand name was created to harness the intersection where social entertainment meets contemporary dining experiences, while the design solution built on the sentiment of social currency – using retro-board game and nostalgia design trends, modernized with a geometric Bauhaus design. The solution was designed to be fully flexible, and the simplicity of the design’s infrastructure allowed the brand identity to flourish in the physical environment of The Rec Room. The result was the introduction of a new brand and business offering into the Canadian food and entertainment landscape. The Rec Room has now opened four locations, with two new ones announced for late 2018.
